The ever popular Waldorf salad mold is easy and fail proof!
Yield: 6 servings; Dressing: 1-1/4 cups
Salad: | |||
1 | package | (3 ounce) lemon flavored gelatin | |

|||
1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
|
|||
1 | cup | boiling water | |
|
|||
3/4 | cup | cold water | |
|
|||
2 | fresh USA Red Bartlett pears, unpeeled, cored and diced - see note | ||
|
|||
1/2 | cup | halved seedless red grapes | |
|
|||
1/4 | cup | chopped celery | |
|
|||
1/4 | cup | chopped walnuts | |
|
|||
Creamy Dressing: | |||
3/4 | cup | mayonnaise | |
|
|||
1/4 | cup | heavy whipping cream | |
|
|||
1 | Tablespoon | granulated sugar | |
|
|||
1 | Tablespoon | grated lemon zest | |
|
|||
Garnish: | |||
Red Bartlett pear slices - see note | |||
|
|||
2 | Tablespoons | lemon zest | |
|
Salad:
Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water. Add cold water. Chill until partially set.
Add pears, grapes, celery and nuts. Pour into 4- cup mold and chill until set.
Unmold and serve with Creamy Waldorf Dressing. Serve garnished with pear slices and lemon zest.
Creamy Dressing:
Combine mayonnaise, whipping cream, sugar and 1 tablespoon lemon zest; mix well.
Note:
Red Bartletts taste very much like yellow Bartletts, but have an attractive red striped skin that provides color and flash in salads and molds. However, any variety of pear can be substituted.
